Why I Want to Leave . . .

1) I don't know how to surf
2) I don't particularly want to learn
3) Expensive
4) My body, for some reason, rejects the climate here
5) Which manifests on my face
6) I look like someone punched me in the eyes and then rubbed sandpaper on them
7) Most of my friends live elsewhere
8) It's time

I couldn't sleep last night so I thought about all the places you could move. Here they are, in order of my preference. Because your move is all about my vicarious experience:

1. Paris
2. Brooklyn
3. Silverlake, Los Angeles
4. Oakland (!!!)
5. St. Louis
6. Philly
7. Providence
8. Minneapolis

Ok, here's mine:

1. Northern Brooklyn -- in a spacious apartment, I don't care which exact neighborhood.
2. St. Louis -- South Grand
3. Paris -- could i really live there? of course i could
4. Chicago
5. Pittsburgh
6. Upstate New York, in an inexpensive old house close to a "main street" -- maybe somewhere *like* Newburgh. You know, not too white.
8. Oakland -- Lake Merritt? Temescal?
7. I wish I knew L.A. better, but I'll put Silverlake on there.
